Custom cap mantels will be
built to fit your fireplace stone dimensions ("A","B",etc.) or they can be
built to your desired overall length and depth. Each style also has some
standard dimensions, shown below, that will affect final overall size. (Stock
mantel dimensions are shown on box labels. Quick-ship mantel dimensions are
shown on another page.)

Overall top width
will equal your stone width "A" plus 2 overhangs 
if your cap will sit on top of fireplace stone. If cap will hang on flat wall
and bottom "A" width isn't critical, the top width can be whatever you specify
up to 10 feet.
Overall top depth of cap mantel is usually 8" , with a standard bottom
depth as shown in chart  . Your
mantel may be deeper if the stone on which it will sit is thicker than .
To determine your mantel depth (8" Minimum), add your stone depth "B" plus one
overhang . |
